Wondering how to help our beautiful Earth this Earth Day? You don't have to become a major activist - even the littlest things can make a huge difference in the longevity of our planet:

TAKE YOUR BELOVED AUTOMOBILE TO THE CAR WASH

Use half the water you would washing your car on your own, and avoid polluting the storm drains (and harming the cute little fishies)! Plus, who doesn't like the candy-colored wash!?

USE A COMPUTER VS. A LAPTOP

I know it's more expensive, but you're investing in the environment! Or, make sure you select a laptop with an Energy Star rating (these use 70% less energy than uncertified models!).

RECYCLE YOUR CANS + PAPER

Once you're done heating up that microwave meal or sprinkling some canned beans on your salad, be sure you RECYCLE the things that can be opted out of the trash!

SWITCH TO GREEN ENERGY

Many places (including my home in Washington State, running on Puget Sound Energy) offer the feature of selecting green power through your power company. Are you on green power?

CARPOOL TO WORK

Have a best girlfriend at your job? See if she'll carpool to work with you! It's not a bad idea to conserve your money (and gas) while reducing the gasoline emissions from your vehicles.

OPT FOR AN "ELECTRONIC COPY"

Instead of printing out a ton of documents and/or having your bills sent to you in snailmail, offer to opt for electronic copies ONLY - reducing the amount of paper consumed by you.

WASH YOUR LOCKS LESS

Okay, let's be real: you probably already don't wash your hair every day, but if you do, remember that you emit PPCPs (Pharmaceuticals & Personal Care Products as Pollutants) each time you wash your luscious locks. While it's overall horrible for your hair to wash it every day anyway, you're saving the environment by holding out one more day! #teamdryshampoo

GO MEATLESS

I'm not going to preach it to you if you genuinely enjoy/need meat and don't want to hear it, but if you can avoid eating meat just a day or two each week, you're saving so much water!

GET YO'SELF A WATER BOTTLE

Stop buying $3 waters at the store and opt for a nice, non-BPA refillable water bottle! I just picked up a Citrus Zinger at Target and I can't get enough of it. Just add lemon + enjoy! BONUS! Lemon water contains vitamins and electrolytes, and helps keep your metabolism strong while reducing your bloating.
