How To: Post on Instagram from Apple Computer
It's true: you can post to Instagram using your computer! Okay, so, not reaaaally, it's just a developer hack that allows you to see your computer's screen as though it were an iPhone screen (like inside the app!). Today, I'm just going over how to post on Instagram from Apple computer, but there is capability for all.
For the purpose of this tutorial, I am going to be using Safari, which is (obviously) the default web browser that comes with Apple computers, but you can do this on most any browser or computer.
1. OPEN SAFARI.
2. SELECT "PREFERENCES" > "ADVANCED".
3. CHECK THE BOTTOM BOX THAT SAYS "SHOW DEVELOP MENU IN MENU BAR".
4. NOW, OPEN A PRIVATE BROWSING WINDOW.
5. SELECT "DEVELOP" > "USER AGENT" > "Safari -- iOS 10 -- iPhone".
6. TYPE IN INSTAGRAM.COM AND SIGN IN!
And BINGO! You're in! Yes, it really is that simple.
From there, you can add filters to your photos, decide whether the photo shows full size or cropped in a 1:1 square, add a caption, then leave a comment with your hashtag set. It also allows you to engage with other users, search hashtags, follow/like/comment like you typically would on the normal Instagram desktop browser.
The only downfall? It doesn't allow you to tag people! Huge issue for those of us who collaborate with photographers on the daily :( But, all it takes is a simple edit from your phone app and you're good to go!
If you're interested in how to post from a different browser or a PC computer, you can easily Google those tutorials, too :)
Hope this helps! Have a fabulous day, girlboss!
