How to Shine at Your Next Job Interview
Job interviews can be SUPER stressful, but do not fear: I've got the ultimate hacks!
Feeling in a rut? That was me about a year ago. I was stuck in a job I wasn't happy with. It was also suffocating me mentally; I felt like I didn't belong. I wanted to be proud of the work I did every day. I'm so happy that I found my new job as a flight attendant for a major airline. I'm happy with the work I do! Every day is a new adventure, so it's the perfect job for me.
The hardest part of the process had to be interview day. Becoming a flight attendant can be a fairly competitive process depending on the airline you want to work for. I had the odds stacked against me, but I made it!
Here's some of my go-to interview tips to land your dream job:
This one is a no-brainer! They're hiring YOU, not a fake version of you. Try to show them who you are, reflect your personality and let yourself shine!
DRESS FOR THE JOB
Keep it professional. A good rule of thumb is to dress slightly nicer than what you would be expected to wear on the job. I interviewed for a job at a gym wearing slacks and I looked slightly ridiculous! Most importantly: make sure your outfit fits correctly for the job!
BRING THE BASICS
Keep yourself looking and feeling fresh. Bring your hairbrush, lotion, mints and anything else that keeps you fresh and makes you feel good. Some interviews are short, but my flight attendant interview took around 10 hours. I'm glad I brought supplies in my purse!
Just like running a race, hydrate well the night before! You'll get that healthy glow and feel much better!
Feel your best! Don't eat anything that will make you feel bloated or tired before the big interview. Stick with healthy foods, greens and proteins!
TREAT YO' SELF
After a big interview, I like to treat myself to coffee, a new top or new music! Whether you get the job or not, you deserve to be pampered after a stressful day!
You've got this, girl!
