Earlier this month, I made a change for autumn... I decided to get ombre! Ombre is a particular style of dyed hair--traditionally a darker color from the roots down, fading into a lighter color at the bottom. However, some may choose to reverse the pattern. I decided on a medium-length ombre in golden blonde to match my naturally brunette hair.
From the many great things about ombre, there are five that were definite deciding factors for me.
First, the wearer can choose when the second color starts to blend (ex: in the middle by the cheeks, below by the chin, or just on the very tips--depending on the length of hair).
Second, once you pay for the initial dye treatment, it's only $20-50 to re-glaze (lighten the color), and you barely need up-keep. You can easily purchase purple shampoo to rejuvenate the color on your own.
Third, it looks great (at least the blonde that is most popular) with autumn colors--the leaves falling, oranges and yellows... pumpkins... all the joys of this time of year!
Fourth, it is a fantastic style for those who don't like to do a lot of fancy things to their hair... you can easily purchase a curling iron and curl the ends where the ombre starts (seen above, left photo).
Fifth, it sets your style apart from others'. Not everybody has a unique color fade to their hair, ESPECIALLY if one chooses a pink ombre. It is part of your first impression; people will always remember you by your wilder hair. Think: Demi Lovato, Lauren Conrad, Khloe Kardashian.
Would you get ombre? If so, what color?
