7 Types of Content to Share with Your Email List

If you've recently started an email list (or you're simply looking for ways to spice yours up), it can be extremely difficult to stand out from the crowd while still meeting current trends! As bloggers (and businesses), the best we can do is provide value to our readers and customers while still making ends meet and getting our point across! The types of content to share with your email list can vary, but here's 7 that never seem to fail:

1. WHAT'S HAPPENING / RECAPS

Your subscribers are that for a reason: they want to stay in touch with you, girl! Subscribers love to know what's happening and gain recaps about your projects or latest blog posts. They want to see you succeed, but they also want content of value.

Examples: a list of your latest blog posts (with one or two highlighted including beautiful imagery and headline text), recaps of a recent event you hosted, providing social proof by sharing success stats of a latest event or project.

2. EDUCATIONAL TIPS + TRICKS

I adore receiving little fun facts when I follow bloggers and fellow creatives in my field. Along with Instagram and blog posts, your email list is yet another vessel through which you can educate your audience.

Examples: an actionable hack, the latest news tidbit regarding your niche of specialty, best practice suggestions.

3. MONEY SAVERS (PROMOS)

Boy, do we all looove saving money! And there's good reason. If we're supporting someone, no matter how much we care for them, we do expect a little something in return. Okay, so your audience followed you: now what?

Examples: a coupon for % / $ off a product or service, an exclusive event not open to everyone.

4. A GLIMPSE BEHIND-THE-SCENES

Showing your fans that your team has fun and more importantly gets along is key! They'll soon feel like they're part of your business family when they see the glimpse behind-the-scenes of what you're currently working on / who your staff is.

Examples: staff bios and beautiful imagery, behind-the-scenes on a new project, showcasing fun and happiness.

5. SOMETHING THAT INSPIRES

Moodboards, collages and stunning images are great for inspiring your subscribers to take action in their own lives, and that might mean eventually hiring you or diving further into your great plethora of resources on your blog. Inspiring people to live their best life and be their best self is something that is seriously irreplaceable. Nothing will beat this feeling!

Examples: a collage of Pinterest images, a beautiful recap of your Instagram content relating to blog posts or products.

6. PEPTALKS

Latch on to that pain point and HOOK! Find that issue that your customer is struggling with and utilize it to write them a customized peptalk. Peptalks are great fillers for email list blasts and mean something to your receivers. I love writing peptalks to people who support me and struggle with issues I completely sympathize with and can help them resolve. This is equally as great in turning out ROI for your business as it is great for helping them.

7. THE GOLDEN TICKET: FREEBIES!

Okay, here's the key to email marketing: offering freebies. Especially if you're a blogger! For our blog email list, we include an exclusive password and link to our freebie library here on FF, jam packed with printable worksheets and styled stock photos for our readers to use on their own blogs or business marketing. It's so important to offer up; it's all about that reciprocity!
